The Appalachian Drifter is a double detent lock folding knife that is coming for your current EDC. Those familiar with the detent lock know how awesome it is and those unfamiliar will learn soon enough. This slip joint mechanism is all the rage because it allows for smooth opening and closing action without the oppressive force of a traditional back spring. Instead of one detent ball, it has two, which allow just the right amount of force to keep it both open and closed. This allows for the ceramic bearings to shine and the action to be as smooth as any other flipper out there, even if the tab is quite small. We find the Appalachian Drifter to be just the right size for everyday carry and its aesthetic hits right on the mark.

Ben Peterson Designed the Baby Banter as the little brother to the WE Knife Co. Banter. It features many of the same excellent and thoughtful design cues as the original, but fits in smaller pockets, weighs significantly less, and is considerably less expensive. The knife utilizes a finger choil to give you more real estate to grab onto, making the knife usable, even in large hands.. The knife is put together with recessed screws, a recessed pocket clip, a large interface with the liner lock, and a gentle G-10 texture. These little touches make the knife incredibly comfortable in use, even if you just like to fidget. The first and most recognizable part of this design is the D2 tanto blade. It’s big, it’s broad, and it’s flat ground for toughness. The action is very pleasing as the size of the blade, the detent, and the caged ceramic bearings make it buttery smooth using the studs or flipper tab. This tab acts as a finger guard preventing you from accidentally sliding forward onto the blade when using. The ergonomic handle has a solid feel provided by the stainless steel liners and we don’t think it gets any more comfortable than this. Add in a reversible deep carry pocket clip and backspacer with lanyard slot built-in and you have a tactical knife built for anyone. Finally, it’s priced for everyone and each variant might just be cooler than the last.
