CIVIVI Brazen Flipper Knife Black G10 Handle (3.46″ Black Stonewashed D2 ) C2023C £70.00The first and most recognizable part of this design is the D2 tanto blade. It’s big, it’s broad, and it’s flat ground for toughness. The action is very pleasing as the size of the blade, the detent, and the caged ceramic bearings make it buttery smooth using the studs or flipper tab. This tab acts as a finger guard preventing you from accidentally sliding forward onto the blade when using. The ergonomic handle has a solid feel provided by the stainless steel liners and we don’t think it gets any more comfortable than this. Add in a reversible deep carry pocket clip and backspacer with lanyard slot built-in and you have a tactical knife built for anyone. Finally, it’s priced for everyone and each variant might just be cooler than the last.

This makes for a completely different knife, in the same footprint that we all know and love, but this one is just downright better. The Sandvik blade will take a razor-sharp edge and provides excellent stainless properties making this a great outdoorsman’s knife. The pocket clip is now reversible for left-handed users, however, the button lock still favors righties. The lanyard post is now hidden on the backspacer – which is an excellent design choice, and the only thing that might make it better is a flipper tab. The Button Lock Elementum is ready for all-day use, tactical scenarios, and the outdoors while remaining one of the best, most capable knives at this price point.

The Orthrus fixed blade from CIVIVI is a two-headed monster of its own, built to be the ultimate covert tactical knife. One side of the irregular blade has a plain edge with two cutting edges like a tanto blade, while the other side has partial serrations for cutting fibers like a rope. The Orthrus can be wielded just as effectively with a forward grip as it can be used as a karambit with a reverse grip.
