Based on the custom TuffKnives Catalyst 2 by Geoff Blauvelt, the ODD 22 is everything you want in a folding knife. A tactical look, a reversible deep carry clip, excellent ergonomics, superb action, and both thumb stud and flipper opening options, just to name a few. The blade comes in just under three inches for legality concerns in some locales, but we find it plenty big enough. Its natural thumb ramp allows for great leverage during use and the grip leaves nothing to be desired. Geoff and CIVIVI absolutely nailed it with this one. It is possibly the best gift for non-knife people we can think of currently.

It blended a classic jackknife look with modern materials and a flipper deployment – but even with that modern opening mechanism, it was a non-locking knife. The first and most recognizable part of this design is the D2 tanto blade. It’s big, it’s broad, and it’s flat ground for toughness. The action is very pleasing as the size of the blade, the detent, and the caged ceramic bearings make it buttery smooth using the studs or flipper tab. This tab acts as a finger guard preventing you from accidentally sliding forward onto the blade when using. The ergonomic handle has a solid feel provided by the stainless steel liners and we don’t think it gets any more comfortable than this. Add in a reversible deep carry pocket clip and backspacer with lanyard slot built-in and you have a tactical knife built for anyone. Finally, it’s priced for everyone and each variant might just be cooler than the last.
